Gutter cleaning questions in Central Florida
Straight answers about cleaning, downspouts, guards and how a request works.
What should a Central Florida gutter quote include?
At minimum, which parts of the system are covered: every gutter run, every downspout, and debris removal from the property. Ask whether the price is per visit or per foot, and whether a note on damage is included. Scope differs between companies, so compare line by line.
How much should I expect to pay?
Published figures are third-party estimates, not quotes. Angi lists a typical Orlando range of $119 to $230, This Old House $120 to $225, and Thumbtack about $125 for a 200-foot single-story home. Two stories, steep pitch and heavy debris raise it. Our own quote depends on the home (stories, roofline, gutter length, access and how clogged it is) and is given after we see the details.
Is a gutter cleaner required to be licensed?
The contractor definitions in Florida Statutes section 489.105 do not mention gutters, but they do cover roofing, so roof-related repair may need a DBPR license. That is not a legal conclusion. Look up any company at MyFloridaLicense.com and ask any company about insurance directly.
Can my HOA insist on its own vendor?
An HOA may keep a preferred list and set access rules, but section 720.3075 says it cannot require a hired worker to prove licensure to enter a parcel. Ask the board for its requirements in writing. A certificate of insurance is a common request.
How do I know if I should clean once or twice a year?
It depends on tree cover. Vendors in the region commonly suggest two visits a year, before the rainy season and in fall, while homes with a clear roofline may need fewer. Tell us about the trees over your roof when you request a quote and we can talk through an interval.
Will you flush my downspouts?
Downspout flushing is one of the services we offer, and we confirm on the call which downspouts the job covers. Other companies differ: some include it, some charge extra, and some only do it when a pipe seems slow. Whoever you hire, ask for the answer in writing.
Do I need gutters at all in Central Florida?
Not every house does. A third-party explainer says many Florida homes skip them thanks to wide overhangs, steep roofs and sandy soil. If water pools near your slab or splashes onto doors, they may help. A local building department can advise on current code.
What if damage turns up? Do you do repairs?
We clean gutters and flush downspouts. We do not do roof repair, roofing, or gutter installation or replacement. If we notice damage we will point it out, and you can get any repair quoted separately. Roof-related repairs may need a licensed roofer, and you are not obliged to decide on the spot.
Who does the work, and how is the price set?
We do the gutter cleaning ourselves with our own team, not by hiring it out. The quote is free, and it depends on the home: stories, roofline, gutter length, access and how clogged the runs are. We give it after we see the details. The dollar figures on this site are third-party market estimates only.
Do I need to be home, and what about gated communities?
Tell us about gates, access codes and any HOA or condo rules when you request a quote. On the confirmation call we go over access to the gutters and whether anyone needs to be on site, so the visit matches what your property allows.
